I am a 36 year old woman who just 7 months ago could not walk properly, was on the verge of high blood pressure, hated to stand, hated wearing pretty shoes and didn't know how to have fun. I didn't have the energy to do anything but sit around and watch television. When my family and I would get together, I wouldn't do much. I would be watching on the side lines. I knew I needed to do something, but I didn't think I had the courage to do it. I had been down this road many, many times. You name it, I have tried it. I have been overweight since adolescence and I have been fighting it ever since.
My parents were afraid for my health. Thanks to them pushing I went and found a gym to join. The problem was that I never felt comfortable at the gyms I went to. I didn't know how to use the equipment and I still never knew how to eat right. I had a session with a personal trainer there and he talked on his cell phone and couldn't answer any of the questions that I asked him. I had decided that gyms were not for me.
At that point I saw an ad for Fitness Together. There I met Jason and his staff. I saw this big, tall dude and looking at him I have to admit I was scared at first. My thoughts were "What was he going to do to me?" The first thing he said to me was "This is the best decision you've ever made." I thought to myself "Yeah okay whatever." What I told him was that he couldn't let me quit.
In the past, I have tried many trainers, but they gave up on me as soon as I did. I knew that if I wanted to really lose weight this time that I needed someone who would not take my crap. Jason has been that person. Since I have been working out with him I have not only lost 68lbs, but I walk better, have more energy, don't sit and watch television all the time and my blood pressure has gone down. I can now have fun with my nieces and nephews again. Basically, I am living life again. I am being active and doing things I never thought I could. I don't know what I would have done if there wasn't Fitness Together.
I also had to make the commitment to not only meet with him three times a week, but he held me accountable for working out on my own. I also have never had success with traditional dieting. I have tried Atkins, South Beach, The Zone, and Weight Watchers with little to no success. Jason taught me that I don't have to starve myself. I have followed the program he designed specifically for me and actually eat much more and more tasty food than I ever thought I could and the weight is still dropping off.
Jason is a trainer that not only cares about what you doing during your time together but he wants to know what you are doing outside of your time. I still have a long way to go, but with the help of Jason I will get there and I can't wait. This has been an adventure of a lifetime. This is just the beginning of my story.
